Our Enigmatical Walk tour starts by collecting you from your Hotel. We then start hiking from The Plaza de Armas, it was the most important square surrounded by the imposing mansions of the Incas. Today, it has been converted into colonial Plaza de Arms. The present day Plaza and its constructions were built over those original Inca palaces.
The route begins here in the center of the city. Its altitude is 3,400 m (11,000 ft). We start walking up towards the monumental temple of Saqsayhuaman, it is around half an hour’s walk 3 km (2 miles) from the City. It is northeast 200 m (656 ft) above the City. Half way up hill is the church of San Cristobal and next to it the imposing remains Palace of Manco Capac, the first Inca.
Continuing east from Saqsayhuaman is Q’enqo. Its altitude is 3,600 m (11,600 ft). It was the mother earth temple. There are carvings everywhere and under the sedimentary stone hill is the most amazing Inca altar.
Towards the northeast is The Moon Temple. It is 1 km (0.62 miles) away on the ancient Incan road towards the antisuyo (the Amazon way). And then we start descending to The San Blas neighborhood. Three blocks ahead from San Blas is The Main Square the end of the hike.
