DAY ONE:
CUSCO HUAYLLABAMBA
(Pisqacuchu km 82, LLactapata ruins and Wayllabamba)
Our grand adventure starts when you are collected from your hotel at 6:00 am. There is a fantastic drive through the viewpoints of the highland and the sacred valley which takes us to Pisqaquchu km 82 starting point of our hike which is around 2,800 mts (,9187 ft) above sea level. Crossing the footbridge we hike along the Tara trees, Cactus, Bromeliad and Spanish moss forest. After an explanation of theLlactapata ruins, we lunch at Tarayoc place. An easy day 12 kms (8 miles) up and down mountainside, with a six to seven hours hike to reach the first base camp at Huyllabamba ,3000 mts (9,843 ft) above sea level. We have afternoon tea once the camp is set up, with dinner around 7:00 pm then to bed in preparation for an early start tomorrow.
DAY TWO:
HUAYLLABAMBA PACAYMAYU
Our grand challenge with nature starts getting up at 5:00 a.m. pack up your things, enjoy breakfast, stretch your legs, then we leave from 3,000 mts (9843 ft) up to Dead Woman Pass the highest point on our hike at 4,200 mts (13,780 ft). We have two official breaks and water stations before getting to the top. Walk slowly and surely, take any breaks along the way, as many as you need, going at your own pace. Breathe in and out deeply two to three times at each break to catch your breath. We start climbing gently into the mountain and under native woodland polylepis forest through Llulluchapampa 3,850 mts (12,632 ft) with spectacular views of the landscapes and Inca trail ahead to first pass. We start descending a stairway to the forested Pacaymayu Valley, the second base camp 3,500 mts (11484 ft). We have afternoon tea once the camp is set up, with dinner around 7:00 pm then to bed in preparation for an early start tomorrow.
DAY THREE:
PACAYMAYU WIÑAYWAYNA
Our best day for adventure starts at 5:00 am pack up your things, enjoy breakfast, stretch your legs, then we leave from 3,500 mts (11,484 ft) up the stairway of Runkuracay ruins, with visit and guided tour. We keep ascending a steeped mountainside as we reach the second pass Runkuracay 3,950 mts (12,960 ft)a spectacular view point of the Pumasillo range. Descending to Sayacmarca ruins we can view the incredible snow capped ranges and forested hills flank the Aobamba valley. Continuing along the steep paving stone path and under cloud forest through a colorful riot of orchids, bromeliads, mosses and fern is Phuyupatamarca, the third pass 3,600 mts (11,812 ft). After lunch we start descending down the mountainside at Phuyupatamarca ruins then a long stairway through Wiñaywayna to the third camp 2,650 mts (8,695 ft) the largest and most beautiful of the Inca trail sites. In the afternoon we have a guided tour of the ruins, a break for tea and then dinner. After dinner we have a grand party with kitchen crew and the porters to thank them.
DAY FOUR:
WIÑAYWAYNA MACHUPICCHU
Our dreamed of day starts very early getting up at 4:30 am to pack up your things, enjoy breakfast and a pocketed snack. We leave at 5:30 am to follow the last stretch of the Inca trail across a dark green forest to reach the Sun Gate portrait of the enigmatical Inca city. The last half- hour is fascinating to enjoy the sunshine along the way through the heart of Machupicchu. Here you will complete a fully guided tour of the site with time available to enjoy the Machupicchu at your own pace.
After our guided tour. Later in the afternoon we take a bus to the small town of Aguas Calientes where we catch the train and return to Cusco. We ended up leaving you in your hotel.
End of service.
If you lunch in Aguas Calientes we advice to visit the Machupicchu museum that is at bottom. Before lunch and takes the train back to Cusco.
If you overnight in Aguas Calientes we arrange everything for the day after.
