(Tipon, Pikillacta pre-Inca ruins, Andahuaylillas town and the Sistine Chapel of the Americas)

Our Incredible South tour starts by collecting you from your Hotel. We then have 30 minutes van ride to Tipon town which is a Nacional Archaeological Park toward the southeast of Cusco city. In order to get the ruins there is a 5 kms (3 miles) dusty rout from km 18 (11.2 miles) of the roud Cusco Puno. that group is found in a slight and warm ravine at an altitude of 3500 mts (11,480). Besides, the terracing over here is very impressive, and their retaining walls were built with well carved stones. Even more impressive is the irrigation system that is still sering agriculture and was made taking advantages of the water spring axisting in the spot.

After Tipon , we will visit Pikillacta (flea town) ruin which is 30 kms. (18.6 miles) away southeast of Cusco, its altitude is 3,400 m (1,1000 ft) above sea level. The town pre-dates the Incas. The ruins cover an area of 50 hectares (123 acres), and are surrounded by a 10 mt (33 ft) high wall that is still partly intact. It was built by the Wary culture, which arose near Ayacucho and robably constructed around 600-950 A.D. It has rough stone walls, two and three storey buildings, where food, clothing and weapons were stored. There is also an impressive Incan gate-way to the Cusco valley. It was to control the access to the city.

Continuing, we will pass through Rumicolca (Stone Storehouse) is 3 kms. (1.5 miles) farther east of Pikillacta. It was a stone quarry that in Incan times served for extraction of the grey andesite stone which was used in the construction of the Incan Cusco city. Piñipampa is major center of production for the red roofing tiles of Cusco.

We then visit Andahuaylilla stown which is about 40 kms. (25 miles) east of Cusco, and at an altitude of 3100 m (10170 ft). It is a small, attractive village. The vast main plaza is adorned with Pisonay (coral trees), palm trees and the colonial houses surrounding it. The colonial church of San Pedro is the major attraction in the entire village. It is considered to be The Sistine Chapel of the Americas, because of the quality of the artworks and its stunning multicolor and gold leaf ceiling, incredible murals and some fine colonial paintings. There is no church in the city of Cusco to compare with it. We have a Packed lunch.

After that, we will return to Cusco. We ended up leaving you in your Hotel.
